About Us
Owners: Jeff and Dixie Gabric
We were inspired to start Wolff House Wallpapers, LLC after searching for appropriate wallpapers for our home, the "Wolff House", built in 1835, and on the National Register of Historic Homes. We purchased the Wolff House in 1993 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio and have been lovingly restoring it ever since.
As with many old houses in small mid-western towns, the Wolff House had been virtually untouched since the 1800's. The original architecture from the 1830's and the large addition and upgrades to the house, probably dating from the 1870's, are still intact. The original floor plan remains. With the exception of the 1840's stenciled foyer, the removal of layers of wallpapers revealed bare unpainted plaster walls, indicating that the original and subsequent decorations of the house had been wallpaper.
Not satisfied with the look of machine printed reproduction wallpapers, we decided to try our hand at making some of our own. After much research and study, we recreated these beautiful and historic patterns. Many of the patterns available are from papers that we reproduced for house museums and private homes throughout the country.
We hope you will use them to decorate your own home and enjoy them as much as we do.
